Lena Ruth Parlier

Lena Ruth Parlier, 87, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Lena was born in Roan Mountain, Tenn., to the late George Washington Presnell and Nannie Byrd Presnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Archie Parlier; a son, Robert Richard Parlier; a grandson, Steve Robert Blevins; her brothers, Larry Presnell and Rex Presnell; and a sister, Violet Gibson.
Lena retired from North American Rayon Corporation and had also worked at Double C Western Supply. She was a faithful member of Elizabethton Church of Christ. Lena loved painting, crocheting and gardening. Most of all she loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her Cloudland classmates, the Red Hatters, and her church friends.
Lena is survived by her daughter, Doris Blevins and husband Mac of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Diana Hilton and husband Andy of Elizabethton; a grandson, Travis Blevins and wife Chelsey of Elizabethton; three great-grandsons, who were the love and joy of her life, Walker, Will and Wade Hilton; her sisters, Loretta Rainbolt and husband Ken of Elizabethton, June Winters of Elizabethton, Norma Babb and husband David of Elizabethton, Trena Gibson and husband Carl of Elizabethton, Patsy Montgomery and husband Clay of Roan Mountain and Diana Hope Marlowe and husband Ralph of Erwin; and a brother, Dean Presnell and wife Sandra of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate Lena’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, February 5, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Mr. Todd Houston officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Peace from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Martin Montgomery, Alex Carr, Jason Duncan, Chuck Hilton, Brandon Blevins, Landon Morrell and Muff Parlier. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
