MORRISTOWN – The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for selected areas in east Tennessee and southwest Virginia, effective from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

Affected Areas:

• Tennessee: Scott, Campbell, Claiborne, Hancock, Hawkins, Sullivan, Morgan, Anderson, Union, Grainger, Hamblen, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Washington, Northwest Carter, Knox, Jefferson, Northwest Blount, North Sevier
• Virginia: Lee, Wise, Scott, Russell, Washington

Advisory Details: South winds are expected to range between 20 to 35 mph, with the possibility of gusts reaching up to 55 mph during the advisory period.

Timing: The advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
