Nellie Marie Campbell of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to be with her Lord and Savior, January 9, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolly Lossie Campbell, and eight siblings. She was 92 years young, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a mighty prayer warrior who always was ready to share the word of God with anyone. One of her favorite verses that she often cited was Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not nor be afraid of them, for the Lord thy God it is He that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee nor forsake thee.”
Her legacy is 70 descendants just like Jacob in the Bible. Throughout her life she was a pastor’s wife and a Sunday School teacher. She taught herself how to play the guitar. She played the piano and she had a beautiful soprano voice when singing.
Mama is survived by seven children, Wilburn James Campbell, Frances Marie Hard, Marilyn Ann Roy, Rosalie Campbell Mackey, Daniel Lee Campbell, Donna Kay Busch and Carol Lee Mea; 23 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
