Elizabethton man arrested for motor vehicle theft following alleged break-in

On December 20, Johnson City Police Department arrested Scott Christner, 43, of Elizabethton, charging him with motor vehicle theft over $2,500 and theft of property under $1,000.
Responding to a motor vehicle theft around 9:30 p.m., officers were informed by the victim that her ex-boyfriend, Scott Christner, had entered her residence, taking her car keys and other belongings before leaving with her vehicle.
Subsequently, Christner and the vehicle were located by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office within their jurisdiction. He was then transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on a $10,000 bond.
