Shirley Ann Watson, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on December 1, 2023, at Hermitage Health Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wade Watson; her parents, Spencer and Doris Jenkins; one brother, David Kevin Jenkins; and a daughter, Kimberly Carol Watson.
Shirley had lived her entire life on Stoney Creek and had many friends that she loved dearly. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She loved puzzles, coin collecting, quilting, hunting ginseng and being in the woods. She loved her grandchildren, Seth and Mikayla Medley.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Watson Medley and husband Randy of Mountain City, Tenn.; sister, Betty Jo Odom of Jonesborough, Tenn., sister, Rose Hypes and husband Roger of Locust, N.C.; grandchildren, Seth Medley and Mikayla Medley of Mountain City, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bealuh Grindstaff and Betty Carden.
A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday, December 3, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Leonard Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Ensor Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Hermitage Health Center for the wonderful and loving care they provided to Shirley during her residency there and at the end of her journey.
