Johnson City man faces felony charge for false bomb report

James Cash of Johnson City was arrested and faces a felony charge of false reports after falsely reporting a possible bomb in a vehicle parked at 3111 Browns Mill Road. Cash called 911 to report the incident, prompting a massive response from law enforcement and public safety organizations, including the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit. The incident led to a partial business closure for approximately three hours. Cash was located on-scene, and after it was determined there was no explosive device, he was taken into custody. He is being held at Washington County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond, with an arraignment scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 8, in Washington County General Sessions Court in Jonesborough.
