The VFW Post 2166 Auxiliary, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, will conduct a food distribution event for veterans and their families in need on Friday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. The distribution will take place at the VFW Post located at 2001 West Elk Ave., Elizabethton. To facilitate the process, attendees are kindly requested to ensure there is sufficient space in their vehicle’s trunk to accommodate the food box and to open their trunk upon arrival in the distribution line. Participants can remain in their vehicles, and the food box will be loaded for them, ensuring a contactless experience to safeguard their health.
To assist in preparing an adequate quantity of food boxes, organizers ask attendees to call David Batchelder at the Carter County Veterans Service Office at 542-1824 to register for the food distribution. This proactive measure will ensure that ample food resources are available for those in need.
