FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Elizabethton Police Department recently reported two separate arrests on the following incidents:
On October 28, at 12:50 a.m., Officer Erin Potter responded to a call at the intersection of Sycamore and East Elk Ave. The male subject, identified as Sidney Q. Jones, had requested police assistance due to concerns about his girlfriend’s well-being. Jones displayed signs of intoxication, including a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and unsteady balance. He admitted to consuming alcohol and performed standard field sobriety tasks consistent with impairment. For his safety and that of the public, Jones was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without further incident.
On November 1, at 8:13 a.m., Officer Callie Peters conducted a traffic stop on a gold Honda CRV traveling on West G St. The reason for the stop was a malfunctioning right brake light. The driver, identified as Beau Jaques Davis, provided the necessary documents, but a warrant check revealed an outstanding violation of probation warrant out of Carter County for possession of drug paraphernalia. Davis was arrested and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Note: All arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
