The Melvin Jones Fellow award was presented to Lennice Potter in memory of her daughter, Carroll Forrester, for her service to the Elizabethton Lions Club at a recent club meeting.
Carroll was treasurer for the club for many years and was a huge asset to the club; she is greatly missed.
A donation of $1,000 was given to the Melvin Jones Fellowship in her name from the Elizabethton Lions Club. This was the club’s first Melvin Jones Fellowship. The money will be used for humanitarian needs in communities around the world.
Her name will be placed in the Lions Club International Foundation Room at the International Headquarters.
