Cynthia Louise Clevenger (Cindy), 63, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her residence surrounded by her husband, her family and her friends on Monday, July 31, 2023. Cindy was born in Front Royal, Va., to the late Jack and Shirley Street. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Whicker; a nephew, Chad Hicks; and her close friend, Sarah Pritchard.
Cindy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and the best sister ever! She was never afraid to sacrifice for her family. She was a friend to all and always had a smile on her face. Cindy was a family woman through and through. She was a gentle and kind spirit and America’s best cook!
Cindy was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and riding her motorcycle and dune buggy with her husband David; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and taking care of her family.
Those left to cherish Cindy’s memory include her husband, David Clevenger of the home; her daughter, Misty Clevenger of Roan Mountain; her son, Steve Clevenger and wife Amy of Lynchburg, Va.; her grandchildren, Isaac Clevenger, Leeland Pritchard and Ryland Pritchard; her sisters, Sharon Street and husband Buddy and Esther Reed and husband John, all of Roan Mountain; her brothers, Kenny Street, Rodney Street and Ricky Street, all of Roan Mountain; her nieces and nephews, Nikki Skinner of Piney Flats, William Street of Roan Mountain, Robert Street of Roan Mountain and Kelsey Reed of Roan Mountain; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 5, in the Rhododendron Chapel at Tetrick of Roan Mountain with Mr. Bill Haywood, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward Cindy’s final expenses. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy’s closest friends who have been there through this difficult time and to Amedysis Hospice and Home Health for their loving care and support. Words of comfort can be sent to the Clevenger family through our website, www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
