August Muse will host the opening night of Angelyn DeBord’s art show Friday, August 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will feature DeBord’s stunning Appalachian-inspired paintings, live music by Knoxville singer and musician Nancy Brennan Strange, and light refreshments.
Angelyn DeBord is an Appalachian artist whose work is inspired by the beauty of the mountain land where she was born and raised.”In my paintings, I try to capture the light that dances around me every day in these mountains” said DeBord. With a degree in Visual Art from Appalachian State University and experience studying painting in France, Italy, and Germany, DeBord’s work has been exhibited throughout the Appalachian Mountains and can be found in collections throughout America and as far away as Australia.
“We are thrilled to be hosting Angelyn DeBord’s art show at August Muse,” said Paula Augustine, owner of August Muse. “Her work is truly breathtaking and captures the essence of Appalachian beauty and culture.”
The event is open to the public and will take place at August Muse’s retail space at 518 East Elk Ave, Elizabethton. The back entrance to the building will also be available to the public with plenty of parking nearby. DeBord’s art will be on display for the remainder of August in store for the public.
