The Carter County Democratic Party will have its annual Potluck and Politics Picnic July 15 at the LaPorte Recreation Area at Sycamore Shoals, past the pool at the shelters, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Scotty Melton will provide entertainment and Lori Love, candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives, will be the guest speaker. Also, there have been reports that Hendrell Remus, TNDC Chairman, plans to come to the picnic this year.
The club will supply roasted chicken fingers and drinks and members are asked to bring side dishes.
There will be plenty of good food, good conversation, and good music for the event.
