The following arrests have been reported by the Johnson City Police Department:
On June 16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Daniel R. Self, Piney Flats, and charged him with one count of burglary of a motor vehicle. The arrest is the result of an investigation into a suspicious person at a residence on E. Oakland Ave. Upon arrival officers made contact with an individual who was identified as Mr. Self. After making contact with Self, it was determined that he unlawfully entered a vehicle at the residence. An attempt was made to steal approximately $50 worth of property that was recovered. Self was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond. His arraignment hearing was on June 16 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On June 16, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested James Eric King, Johnson City. King is charged with one count each of convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, theft of property (possession over $2,500), unlawful drug paraphernalia, and alteration of serial numbers.
The arrest occurred after officers were notified of the location of a subject wanted out of Washington County. King was located in the parking lot of 2915 W. Market St. He was the sole occupant of a black Ford Fusion, which had previously been reported stolen out of Johnson City. King was found to be in possession of a felony amount of suspected methamphetamine and a handgun. King is a convicted felon which prohibits him from possessing firearms. King had outstanding warrants from both Washington and Sullivan counties.
King was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is currently being held in lieu of a $27,000 bond. An arraignment was on June 19 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On June 18, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Nathaniel Crum, Chucky, and charged him with one count of Schedule II drug violation.
At approximately 10:36 p.m., officers received a report that a male appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance while dining at a local business. Officers arrived on the scene and identified Nathaniel Crum who displayed signs of impairment while speaking with officers. Crum gave police consent to search his vehicle where 33 Oxycodone were discovered. Crum was placed into custody and charged with Schedule II drug violation, simple possession, and public intoxication. Crum was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $3,000 bond.
On June 20, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Kenny Hilton, Johnson City, and charged him with one count of theft of property (motor vehicles) over $10,000.
At 10:10 a.m., officers responded to a stolen vehicle report. Employees of the business advised that Hilton had failed to return a vehicle he had rented from them and it was over two weeks past due. After numerous attempts at contact, the business representatives decided to report the vehicle as stolen. Once the vehicle was reported it was tracked and located at the Park N’ Stay Inn. While on scene, officers made contact with Hilton and took him into custody.
Hilton was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond. Arraignment was on June 21 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On June 20 at 8:17 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Robert Qualls, Johnson City, and charged him with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $2,500.
The arrest resulted from officers responding to a burglary in progress of an apartment at 241 W. Main St. The tenant called E911 and stated he observed a male, on security surveillance, enter the apartment and immediately unplug the camera. Officers quickly arrived on scene and observed the male exiting the apartment. Qualls was detained and keys to the apartment were found on his person. The victim realized he had forgotten his keys in the deadbolt last date and it became apparent Qualls had stolen them from the door. Officers observed two containers that Qualls filled, and was preparing to remove from the residence, which contained two laptops, two lamps and two monitors valued at approximately $3,550.
Qualls was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is currently being held in lieu of a $7,500 bond. Arraignment was on June 21 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On June 20, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Tasha Wolfe, Johnson City, and charged her with motor vehicle theft over $10,000.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle theft at 221 E. Market St. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, who was later identified as Tasha Wolfe. Wolfe stated she attempted to drive the vehicle that was later identified as a gold 2011 Toyota Rav4 valued at approximately $10,000 out of the victim’s driveway. The victim stated Wolfe was in her vehicle attempting to drive it out of her driveway and the victim stopped the suspect from leaving with her vehicle.
Wolfe was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where she is being held on a $10,000 bond. Arraignment was on June 21 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
