Junior Lee Taylor, 88, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2023, at Lakebridge Health Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Levi and Ida Estep Taylor.
Junior served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nila Arnold Taylor, who passed away January 23, 2012; a half brother, Paul Davis; and seven sisters, Eileen Estep, Sally Estep, Wilma Moffitt, Clara Cole, Martha Peters, Mary Lipps and Eva Lipps.
Survivors include three children, Inez Taylor, Terry Taylor and Jeff Taylor; one granddaughter, Sara Goodwin; one sister, Nora Moffitt; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Burless Estep.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3, in the Garland Cemetery with Mr. Harry “Buddy” Arnold officiating. Active pallbearers will be David Grindstaff, Denver Campbell, Brian Arnold, Wayne Sams, Eddie Spears and Joe Estep. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Arnold, Rick Arnold, David Birchfield and Willie Setzer. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and Burless Estep.
