“Liberty! The Saga of Sycamore Shoals” will open Friday, June 2, at Sycamore Shoals State Park for the 2023 season. The drama will be presented at 8 p.m. June 2-3; 9-10; and Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 15-17 and 22-24.
The drama will be presented in the Fort Watauga Amphitheater, and is presented by local performers against the backdrop of Fort Watauga. Those attending will see the American Revolution through the eyes of the Overmountain Men: colonists who defied British law and settled west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. These settlers formed an independent government, made treaties with the Cherokee, defended their homes, and fought a British army at the epic Battle of King’s Mountain.
Sponsored by Friends of Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park, there is an admission charge.
General admission tickets range from free for children five and under; to $6 for students 6 to 17 years of ages; $12 for seniors 55 and up and $16 for adults. Members of Friends of Sycamore Shoals, veterans, and first responders may attend the drama any night for a reduced adult/senior admission price of $8.
Tickets may be purchased at the door.
