Meronk finishes debut at PGA Championship

Buccaneer alum places tied for 40th at Oak Hill Country Club
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – ETSU alum Adrian Meronk finished his debut at the 105th PGA Championship on Sunday from Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
Playing in his first PGA Championship, Meronk finished tied for 40th at 6-over-par (75-69-74-68). Meronk made the cut after posting a 1-under 69 on Friday, while he finished strong with a 2-under 68 in Sunday’s final round to move 18 spots up the leaderboard.
On Sunday, Meronk enjoyed a run of four straight birdies (from holes No. 5-8) to play the front nine at three-under, while he was four-under for the round after carding his sixth birdie of the day on the par-4, 14th. Meronk recorded a double-bogey on the par-4, 16th to finish with the 68.
Brooks Koepka won his third career PGA Championship as he finished at 9-under-par 271 en route to winning by two shots over Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland.
By playing in the PGA Championship this weekend, Meronk has now played in all four Majors for his career, including making his Masters debut last month. Meronk has made the cut in PGA Championship and the Open Championship.
Meronk has had a stellar season on the DP World Tour in 2023 as he has earned wins at the Australia Open and the Italian Open. Meronk currently ranks fourth in the Race to Dubai Rankings with 1,497.42 points. Rory McIlroy is first (2,110.00), Jon Rahm is second (1,763.64) and Victor Perez is third (1,734.75).
Fellow Buccaneer alum Seamus Power was also in this weekend’s PGA Championship but did not make the cut.
