The Julius Dugger-John Carter Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution has been involved in several activities this year.
Members in March attended the Upper TN Spring Luncheon at Brumley’s in Greeneville and in April, the Tennessee Society DAR Conference in Franklin.
During the state conference, four members were recognized and received awards for completing the member’s course. The Julius Dugger-John Carter Chapter ranked number one in the district for the number of graduates from this course.
The chapter collected items monthly for the Veterans at Mountain Home and sent cards to active Veterans serving overseas and in the states.
Interesting programs were presented at the chapter’s meeting each month.
Meetings are held the first Saturday of each month, with the exception of July through September, at the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library at 10:15 a.m. The public is invited.
Any woman 18 years or older may join the DAR by documenting her lineage to an ancestor, either male or female, who aided the cause of American Independence through military, civil or patriotic service. Chapter members can provide assistance with the application process. The chapter can be contacted by emailing johncarter@tndar.org
