A new kind of festival will take place Saturday, April 29, and Sunday, April 30, at the Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton. JesusFest ’23 will be a two-day free event which will feature powerful live music, uplifting worship services, and Bible teachers with a solid grasp of the redeeming message of the Gospel of Christ.
“Right now, with the recent revivals breaking out on college campuses throughout the country and the release of the movie about how the Calvary Chapel movement began, it’s a perfect time to bring the love and message of Jesus Christ to our local community,” said Paul Miller, Pastor of Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities.
Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational, independent Bible teaching church affiliated with the Calvary Chapel Association of Costa Mesa, Calif. The history of the Calvary Chapel movement was featured in the recent theatrical release of “The Jesus Revolution,” which was screened in over 2,400 theaters nationwide.
“JesusFest is open to anyone and everyone. We want to have as many Bible believing Christians join us in celebrating the glorious message of the Gospel of Christ, and to be a public witness to our local cities of the joy of living a life dedicated to Jesus,” said Miller.
In addition to worship, music, and guest speakers, there will be food, fun, bounce house, children’s activities, a prayer tent, Bible giveaway, a blessing of the bikes, and testimonies.
Activities on Saturday will be from 1 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., which will include a church service.
The roster of musicians and speakers has not yet been finalized.
Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair.
