JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Leonel Blake Marquez, 18, Kingsport, Tyson Aaron Stromski, 24, Gray, and Malic Stromski-Smith, 22, Gray, with manufacture/delivery/sell/possession of methamphetamine stemming from a traffic stop on the evening of April 5.
Stromski and Stromski-Smith are also charged with Schedule VI drug violations.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies initiated a traffic stop after Stromski made an abrupt turn without signaling. Due to a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, K-9 Sgt. Mali was deployed to do an open air sniff. Sgt. Mali alerted multiple times and a search of the vehicle revealed a small baggie containing 1.8 grams of a clear crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine and 1.1 grams of marijuana. Marquez also had $3,730 in cash in his pocket. The currency was seized based on the illegal narcotics found.
All suspects denied any knowledge of the marijuana or methamphetamine.
The suspects were transported to the Washington County Detention Center. Each has a bond of $2,000 and all three appeared at 1:30 p.m. today in Sessions Court.
