Becky Sells Olinger to be Inducted into the Carter County Sports Hall of Fame

Becky Sells is one of two Milligan ladies to be inducted into this year’s Carter County Sports Hall of Fame. Becky attended Milligan 1996-97 through 1999-00. She is a member of the Milligan University Athletics Hall of Fame (class of 2005), and a three-time NAIA All-American.
Becky was a Four-time Tennessee-Virginia Athletic Conference selection (first team every year), and 1999-2000 conference player of the year.
She continues to top the Lady Buffs in points (2,965), field goals (1,142), field-goal percentage (64.7), rebounds (1,649), rebounds per game (11.8), blocked shots (271) and blocks per game (1.9).
Becky holds NAIA Division II records for points, rebounds and FG percentage, with a registered career per-game average of 21.2 points and 11.8 rebounds. She ranks third in school history with 216 steals. While at Milligan, the Lady Buffs posted a 115-25 record (.821 win percentage) in her four seasons on the team. She is the program’s record holder in points (876 in 1999-2000), rebounds (418 in 1999-2000), rebounds per game (12.3 in 1999-2000), blocked shots (83 in 1996-97), blocked shots per game (2.4 in 1996-97) and field-goal percentage (67 in 1999-2000).
Becky owns NAIA Division II national record for rebounds (418 in 1999-2000) as well as consecutive free throws made (37 in 1999-2000). She averaged 25.8 points in 1999-2000, a figure that ranks second in Lady Buffs history. Her 19.0 mark in 1996-97 is tied for ninth place. Becky Ranks second in rebounds with an 11.6 mark in 1997-98. Blocked 1.6 shots per game in 1997-98, earning a No. 2 ranking. She has a No. 6 Milligan ranking in points (666 in 1996-97) and free-throw shooting percentage (83.4 in 1999-2000).
Becky collected a school-record 21 rebounds vs. Covenant in January of 1999. The mark has twice been tied but never broken. She established and continues to co-own the program record for free-throw percentage, going 17 of 17 against Concord on Feb. 1, 1999. Becky scored a career-high 39 points against Concord on Feb. 1, 1999. The total ranks sixth in program history. She Blocked seven shots vs. Covenant on Jan. 14, 1997, a record that stood till 2019 and remains No. 2 on the Lady Buffs’ list.
