The Elizabethton Cyclones had paddled upstream all season long and were looking to make something good happen for their three senior teammates when Elizabethton hosted Senior Night against the visiting Tennessee High Vikings inside John Treadway Gymnasium.
It wasn’t meant to be, however, as the visitors’ constant volleys kept finding their mark, leaving the Cyclones stranded on dry land in a 62-42 defeat at the hands of the Vikings.
The Viking tandem of Colin Brown and Creed Music was a thorn in the flesh to the Cyclones all night long as Brown led the way for the visitors with 18 points in the contest.
Musick was just a bucket back recording 16 points as the Vikings managed to hold the Cyclones at bay throughout the contest as the closest the Cyclones could draw to the Vikings was eight points.
Brandon Dufore hit double figures as well for the Vikings with 12.
Elizabethton senior Nate Stephens led the Cyclones effort with 11 points in the loss, while Jackson Hobbs was the only other Cyclone in double figures with ten.
The Cyclones other two seniors, Dalton Mitchell and Nathan Tshuma finished the game with five and three points, respectively.
Mason Ball (6), Will Churchill (3), Andrew Barnett (2), and Luke Whaley (2) closed out the scoring for Coach Lucas Honeycutt’s squad.
