Tipton-Haynes announces annual Maple Syrup Festival, pancake breakfast

Syrup and history lovers are in for a special treat when the Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site hosts its annual Maple Syrup Festival and Pancake Breakfast Saturday, Feb. 11, beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until 3 p.m.
Guests will enjoy watching as the gathered sap from the maple trees is boiled down to sweet maple syrup. The pancake breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The maple sap will be cooked all day.
After a delicious breakfast participants could head outside to see how sap is collected from trees and then boiled down into maple syrup.
Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under while breakfast is $2 extra.
Members of Tipton-Haynes Historical Association are admitted free.
Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site features 11 historic buildings and a permanent exhibit on Tennessee history on 47 acres of farmland. The site has been hosting the festival since 2004. Organizers said it continues to grow each year.
The Tipton-Haynes Historical Site is located at 2620 S. Roan St., Johnson City.
