JONESBOROUGH — Washington County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Cory Ferranti, 39, of Hampton, after the convicted sexual offender was found to be working at a Washington County, Tenn. school, employed by a contractor.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, WCSO’s School Resource Officer assigned to that school notified the Criminal Investigations Division that Ferranti was working at the school. During the investigation, it was discovered that not only was he a convicted sexual offender, but Ferranti had not reported to law enforcement since January 2021. Offenders on the state sexual offender registry are required to report to law enforcement every year at a required time.
Ferranti was charged on January 4 by Investigators for violation of the sex offender registry. His bond was set at $2,500 and his initial appearance was on January 5.
