JONESBOROUGH — Aliyah M. Blakley, 20, Johnson City, was arrested during a routine traffic stop and charged with Schedule VI drug violations and possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia.
Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies made the stop while on a routine patrol of Dry Creek Road. The vehicle was parked on the side of the road with its lights off, so deputies stopped to do a welfare check on the occupants.
Deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana, and K-9 Mafia did an open-air sniff of the vehicle. Mafia alerted to the driver’s side door. A search of the vehicle revealed 58 grams of a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana, along with a glass pipe, marijuana grinder and a bong.
Blakley was transported to the Washington County Detention Center without incident. Bond is set at $11,000 and she is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on the afternoon of Dec. 21.
