Happy Valley High School will be the scene of the return of the World Boxing Federation, (WBF), founded in 1998 by former BMS Track Owner Larry Carrier and Elizabethton’s Ron Scalf. The original date for the match was set for Nov. 12.
This past July, Donelei Benedetto, 3-0-1 (0), scored something of an upset when he won a close unanimous decision, 77-75 x 3, over the more experienced Dustin Long.
Now Long, 6-4-2 (4) and the reigning Tennessee state champion, will get a chance to redeem himself, when they rematch this Saturday night.
And the stakes have been raised, as this time the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) North America Cruiserweight title will be on the line.
Long acquired notoriety in 2019 when he knocked out Marsellos Wilder in Las Vegas, on the undercard of Wilder´s older brother Deontay´s WBC World Heavyweight title defense against Luis Ortiz.
Benedetto has not boxed on a big stage like that but will be confident that he can win again.
Strikefest presents Benedetto vs. Long 2 for the WBF North America Cruiserweight title.
Bell time is 7 p.m.
