Holly named 2022 EHS Homecoming queen

Elizabethton High School spent the past week celebrating Homecoming 2022 with dress up days, a pep rally, parade, and closing out the fun-filled week with the crowning of a Homecoming Queen and football game against Sullivan East.
During the game, which was won 55-27 by the Cyclones, the revelation of the student body’s choice for Homecoming Queen was made known at the half as senior Olivia Grace Holly was crowned the 2022 Homecoming Queen.
Miss Morgan Guinn, the 2021 Homecoming Queen, crowned the new queen.
Holly is the daughter of Tom and Mandy Holly and is a member of the Lady Cyclone basketball team and track and field team. Other activities include Occupation Students of America, Key Club, and National Honor Society. She is a student ambassador, Senior Class Vice President, and a Teen Board of Knoxville presentee for 2022.
She attends Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and will be attending the University of Tennessee in the fall. Holly was escorted by Colby Solomon, the son of Bridget Sproles and Dwayne Solomon.
The first runner-up was Maely Grace Ingram, the daughter of Cristi Ingram and Craig Ingram. Ingram is a Cyclone varsity cheerleader and plays on the EHS softball team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Clone Club.
Ingram attends Southside Christian Church and participates in Young Life. She will be attending college to study pre-med. She was escorted by Brayden Blevins, the son of Mitchell and Savanna Blevins.
The second runner-up was Maggie Lenae Rowland. Rowland is the daughter of Travis and Kristi Rowland and is a member of the Cyclone tennis team and serves as the Cyclone yearbook editor.
Rowland participates in the Student Government Association, National Honor Society, and Clone Club. She attends Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church and is involved in Young Life.
Alex Gouge escorted Rowland. Gouge is the son of Lee and Edie Gouge.
The third runner-up was Cheyenne Wynter Poiroux, the daughter of Lance and Christy Poiroux. Poiroux is a member of the Clone Club, Student Government Association, and participates in Young Life.
She plays softball on the EHS Lady Cyclone softball team and in her free time enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family — especially her baby niece and nephew. She will be studying pre-med in college.
Poiroux was escorted by Mac Paulson, the son of Corey and Rhonda Paulson.
The fourth runner-up was Gracie Jane Shaw, the daughter of Jason and Melissa Shaw. Shaw participates in National Honor Society, is an EHS student ambassador, and a member of the Clone Club.
Shaw attends Carter Christian Church and participates in Young Life. She plans on earning a degree in elementary education.
Peyton Johnson served as Shaw’s escort. He is the son of Brad and Tracey Johnson.
Mrs. Debbie Gouge sang the school’s alma mater song after the court was announced.
