Armed/Unarmed Security Guard Training Class set for October 8

State Certified Instructor Ken Potter will hold a state certified Armed/Unarmed Security Guard Class on Saturday, Oct. 8, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The class will be held at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton.
Applicants must be 21 years of age to obtain an armed guard license and 18 years of age for an unarmed license. You may also attend this program for renewal qualification.
The class covers several topics such as use of force/deadly force, active shooter, self-defense, report writing, and crime scene preservation. You may also attend and use the training to get your state license.
Potter said security is one of the fastest growing occupations today. Applicants will receive a certificate of successful completion.
The program also covers firearm qualifications.
Potter holds numerous certifications and has been a state certified instructor for over 25 years.
