More than 4,000 enthusiastic music lovers packed downtown Elizabethton near the Covered Bridge Park Saturday night, clapping, dancing and singing with Resurrection, a Journey tribute band, at Rockin’ On The Doe. The show opened with a performance by Dwayne Morris.
The event was the “grand finale” for the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation’s popular concert series, Covered Bridge Jams.
“This is the first one of these big season-ending concerts we’ve done, and we were just so happy with it,” said Mike Mains, Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Director. “Like everything we do, this was a team effort and next year, we will be back — even bigger and better. It’s all about creating wonderful memories for our community in this beautiful town.”
Mains thanked Clyde Masters Production, Elizabethton City Manager Daniel Estes, Elizabethton Purchasing Director Greg Workman, WJHL-TV, the Carnegie Hotel and Big Dan’s Barbecue for their help with the event.
