It is with deep sorrow in our hearts to announce the passing of our beloved son, grandson and friend to everyone, Billy Wayne (Peanut) Hilton Jr. Peanut left us too soon at the age of 30 on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Born on February 28, 1992, Peanut was the pride and joy of his parents, Kathy Lynne (Williams) Hilton of the home and the late Billy Wayne Hilton Sr. In addition to his dad, Peanut was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Hilton.
Peanut was so full of life and brought an instant smile to everyone he was around. His sweet, gentle kind ways set him apart and made him everyone’s immediate favorite. He loved life and loved sharing that life with his friendship and his generous spirit. In our hearts, he will always remain.
Peanut graduated with the Unaka Class of 2010 and was of the Baptist faith. He had a true gift for working on cars, motorcycles and anything mechanical. Peanut loved being outdoors and filled his time fishing and hunting. Anyone who knew Peanut knew that before he left anyone he would say his motto in life: “Just Send It – Raise Hell and Praise Dale.”
In addition to his beloved mom, Peanut leaves behind one sister, Kelly JoMae Hilton (companion Dalton Clark) of Elizabethton; his maternal grandparents, Ed and Charlotte Williams of Elizabethton; his grandfather, Wayne Hilton; his “sister by heart” April Blevins Patterson of Elizabethton; his “brother by heart” Jesse Wallace of the home and his nephew, Corbin Zayne “Tut Tut” Hilton – everyone knew that Peanut’s life revolved around Jesse and Corbin; his aunt and uncle, James and Ann Andrews; his “aunt by heart” Susie Berry Francis of Elizabethton; two close cousins, Jeff “Skeeter” Bowers, Jamie Andrews and her baby, Reagan, and Brittany Berry, all of Elizabethton. Also surviving are his great-uncle, Jerry Shepard, and his best friend, Lori Benfield, as well as several other aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends that continue to cherish Peanut’s lasting memory.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Peanut will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 1, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. with his uncle, Johnny Hilton, providing the message. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home chapel from 5 p.m. until the service hour of 7 p.m.
