Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will celebrate its 179th homecoming Sunday, Aug. 28, at 10.30 a.m.
Adam Crabb, lead vocalist of the Gaither Vocal Band, will minister in song.
There will also be a covered dish meal following the service in the fellowship hall.
There will be no 9 a.m. early service, Sunday School, or evening service.
Dr. D. Alan King is pastor.
Doe River Baptist
Doe River Baptist Church, 113 Avon St., will have its monthly Food Pantry Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m.
Those in need of food are invited to attend.
First Christian
Carter McClendon, Children’s Minister at First Christian Church, Elizabethton, will preach the next two Sundays at the church. The services will begin at 9:45 a.m.
September 4, the minister will begin a new sermon series, “What the Church Needs Now.”
The minister is Michael Klaus.
In addition to the Sunday morning service, services are held at 6 p.m. Sunday and 6 p.m. Wednesday.
First Christian is located at 513 Hattie Ave.
New Liberty Free Will
The Rev. Wayne Carr will preach Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
The Rev. Kagan Young will preach at the 6 p.m. worship service.
Everyone is invited to attend both services.
New Liberty Free Will is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.
First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church, 119 W. F St., will have both an in-person and online worship service Sunday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Dr. Bryan Wyatt will present the message “Rich In Community” based on the scripture Luke 12: 13-21.
Adult Forum and Youth Group will meet in person.
Also, the public can join Adult Forum, Wednesday Meditation, and Thursdays with Jesus online.
