On August 15, 2022, at approximately 2:05 pm, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Eric Ryan Rose of Raven, Virginia on a charge of being a Fugitive from Justice. The arrest stems from information received that Rose was on the Veterans Administration property, located at 69 Dogwood Ave in Johnson City. With the assistance of VA Police, he was located and taken into custody. Investigation revealed Rose to be wanted out of Tazewell County, Virginia, for Felony Animal Abuse charges. He was transported to Washington County Detention Center where he awaits extradition.
On August 16, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Michael Mullins of Johnson City, TN, 50, and charged him with being a fugitive from justice for a crime in another state.
At approximately 09:35 am officers were flagged down about a suspicious male subject in the parking lot of the John Sevier Center. Officers made contact with the subject, identified as Michael Mullins, and discovered that he had an extraditable warrant for his arrest out of Scott County, Virginia, for a hit and run crash.
Mullins was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on no bond while awaiting a hearing. Arraignment was on August 16, 2022, in Washington County Sessions Court.
On August 16, 2022, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Barry Wayne Dutton, Butler, TN, 36, and charged him with being a fugitive from justice for a crime committed in another state.
At approximately 1:00 pm, officers were called to Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole after Dutton was found to have outstanding warrants out of Gordon County, Georgia. Contact was made with Dutton and it was discovered that he had extraditable warrants out of Gordon County for several misdemeanors and violation of felony probation.
Gordon was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center in Jonesborough where he is being held on no bond while awaiting a hearing. Arraignment was set for August 17, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On August 19, 2022, at 8:30 am officers of the Johnson City Police Dept arrested 44-year-old Vanessa McCoy, charging her with Aggravated Assault, Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest.
Officers responded to 925 W Market St on a disturbance and found McCoy on the sidewalk with a stick in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other hand. She ran into traffic on W Market St with the scissors raised along with the stick keeping officers from approaching her. Officers were able to chase her from the street and corner her in a parking lot where she was apprehended. McCoy is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $2500 bond and appeared in Washington County Sessions Court on August 22, 2022.
On August 20, 2022, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Dakuan Robbins of Clover SC and charged him with Aggravated Assault Domestic.
At 5:36 am, Officers were dispatched to a Domestic Disturbance at the Red Roof Inn, 210 Broyles Dr. Officers spoke with the victim who provided a detailed account of the events which transpired. Dakuan Robbins was determined to be the primary aggressor and subsequently was placed into custody. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $5,000.00 bond. Arraignment was on August 22, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On Tuesday, August 23, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Antonio Marsh of Plymouth Rd, Johnson City and charged him with Aggravated Assault (Domestic).
Around 00:40 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department were dispatched to 2610 Plymouth Rd #514 in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, and she stated that she and her ex-boyfriend had gotten into a verbal dispute that had escalated to a physical assault. The victim, and witnesses stated that Antonio Marsh had become physical with the victim by striking her, choking her, and threw a mallet at her. During the investigation, and witness statements, Antonio surrendered himself and admitted to the accusations without any further incident.
Antonio Marsh was taken into custody, and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where is being charged with Aggravated Assault (Domestic). He is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and his arraignment was August 23, 2022.
On August 19, 2022, The Johnson City Police Department arrested Taylor Capers of (Hattiesburg, MS) for Sexual Battery.
Officers received a report of a fondling at N Roan St and Sunset Dr. on August 14, 2022. Officers made contact with the victim who is a Lyft driver. She stated she picked up two males in Bristol TN and was transporting them to Johnson City, TN. When transporting them one of the male passengers reached over grabbing her in the vaginal area. During the investigation, Taylor Capers was developed as a suspect in the fondling. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
Taylor Capers was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $35,000 bond. Arraignment was on August 22, 2022, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
