JCPD arrests man for assault, kidnapping and rape

On July 12, the Johnson City Police Department arrested Reginald Perry Cox III and charged him with domestic aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, rape and felon in possession of a firearm.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into an incident that began on the evening of July 8, and continued into the following day. The victim stated Cox held her against her will, assaulted her sexually and physically; at one point pointed a firearm at her. During the course of the investigation, it was learned Cox is already a convicted felon.
Cox was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, in Washington County General Sessions Court.
