Johnson City man arrested for burglary and theft over $1,000

On June 27, at approximately 8 a.m., officers with the Johnson City Police Department responded to 309 Lafe Cox Drive in Johnson City after the owner of the property reported to authorities it had been burglarized. Further investigation yielded the discovery of several stolen power tools from the location.
On June 30, at approximately 7 a.m., officers responded to 410 E. Myrtle Ave., Johnson City, in reference to the discovery of tools associated with the burglary. Upon arrival, investigators made contact with Michael “Shawn” Lingerfelt, who was in possession of the stolen goods. Lingerfelt was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary and theft over $1,000.
He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and currently held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. The next court date for Lingerfelt is pending at this time.
