On June 28, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Robert Rigsby and Miranda Sluss, both of Johnson City, charging them with methamphetamine for resale, Schedules I, II, and VI for resale, simple possession of Schedules II and III, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. Rigsby was also charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, driving on a revoked license, and unlawful removal of registration plate.
At approximately 9 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Rigsby. Sluss was the front passenger. Through the course of the investigation, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The search yielded the following items: over an ounce of methamphetamine and marijuana, a small amount of heroin and crack cocaine, 150 oxycodone pills, three hydrocodone pills, 10 suboxone pills, over 100 baggies, four scales, and a glass pipe. A large sum of cash was located in addition to officers locating a loaded handgun underneath the driver’s seat.
Both Rigsby and Sluss were taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. Rigsby is being held on a total bond amount of $51,500 while Sluss is being held on a bond of $40,000. Arraignment is set for June 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
