39th annual Elks Lodge Youth Trout Tournament a huge success

The Elizabethton Elks Lodge No. 1847 in conjunction with Roan Mountain State Park held the 39th Youth Trout Tournament on Saturday.
Despite rain, chilly weather and a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the event was a huge success. More than 150 kids attended the event and were able to fish all morning long.
Elks and Park Volunteers also enjoyed the day watching the kids fish and giving out numerous awards and prizes. Kids were given guided fly fishing trips, fishing poles, tackle boxes, sleeping bags, and all kinds of other outdoor activity prizes.
Planning is already underway for the 40th annual event in early May 2023.
