Two people have been charged after Washington County Deputies intercepted a package of illegal narcotics meant for the Washington County Detention Center.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, Detention Center staff observed a suspicious vehicle near trash bins at the Detention Center on Wednesday.
Alicia Webb, 41, of Johnson City, exited the vehicle and left a package containing illegal narcotics under a trash bin near the Detention Center kitchen. Deputies were able to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle at the Detention Center.
Further investigation revealed that Webb had been in contact with an inmate at the jail who was assigned as a trustee in the kitchen. The inmate, Jack Patrick, 41, was being housed at the jail and sent detailed instruction to Webb on where to leave the package.
Webb was charged with attempted introduction of contraband and simple possession and is being held on a $1,500 bond.
Patrick was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and his bond is set at $7,500. Both are scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on April 28 at 9 a.m.
