The Elizabethton and West Ridge tennis teams took to the courts at Elizabethton High School with each team earning a split in the day’s action Friday.
In boy’s play, the Cyclones dominated the Wolves by sweeping all nine matches on the day.
Elijah Smith, Kaden Street, Hudson Smith, Carson Peters, Anderson Hallman, and Elijah Laney each took victories in singles action for the Cyclones as the team won a combined 48 games in the match while only giving up 15 games to West Ridge.
It was a repeat in doubles play as Elizabethton continued their dominance in boy’s action by taking all four matches taking 32 games to only 12 for the Wolves.
On the girl’s side, the Lady Wolves returned the favor by sweeping past the Lady Cyclones, 9-0.
The closest the Lady Cyclones came to a win was in doubles play where Madelyn Outland and Maylie Stout playing in the 5-6 seed contest fell in a hard-fought 9-8 (7-5) tiebreaker.
Just like in boys play, the Lady Wolves were dominant on the afternoon by winning 80 games on the day while allowing the Lady Cyclones only 36 total games.
