Shields participates in East vs West All-Star basketball game

T.A. Dugger basketball player Michelle Shields attended the 3rd Annual Rocky Top Border War in the East vs West All-Star Basketball Game last Thursday at Knoxville Catholic High School.
It was the top 24 best middle school girl basketball players in the state of Tennessee that competed that night. Coach Matt Fox and Assistant Coach Bryan Adams who were named as the East coaches only had one practice with all the girls in preparation for the stacked West Team.
The East All-Stars competed with amazing effort, leading most of the game but ended up losing by five points in the last minute of the game, 59-64.
At the end of the game, Shields was announced as the leading scorer for the East team and was voted Player of the Game.
After the awards ceremony, a three-point contest was held and Shields showed her outside shooting talents by winning the three-point champion trophy.
Fun was had by all the participants as each of the girls represented the East team very well. After the game, Fox and Adams were acknowledged for their enthusiasm and strategic game plan which was announced by Howie Sompayrac, Director of the Rocky Top Border War.
University of Tennessee basketball player Zakai Ziegler was also in attendance presenting awards to the girls.
