JOHNSON CITY — For more than 15 years, Heather Shelton has served as an advocate for patient education to improve overall health, first as a registered nurse serving in labor and delivery and now as a nurse practitioner.
She is accepting new patients at ETSU Health OB/GYN.
“I became a nurse practitioner to be able to continue to take care of patients on a higher level as a provider,” Shelton said. “I am blessed to have the opportunity to continue to care for the same patient population in a different role. I believe that being compassionate and taking the time to listen to my patients helps them to know that they are important and keeps them involved in their care.”
Shelton received her Master of Science in nursing from King University in Bristol. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City.
She is a native of Northeast Tennessee and feels passionately about serving the people of this region. Shelton is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also certified in advanced cardiovascular life support, basic life support and neonatal resuscitation.
The ETSU Health OB/GYN office is located at 325 N. State of Franklin Road.
