Lady Cyclones drop beach contest to South Williamsport

The Elizabethton Lady Cyclones were looking to kick up sand while participating in a tournament in Myrtle Beach but ending up getting stuck late in their game against South Williamsport, PA.
Leading 1-0 heading into the fourth inning, South Williamsport came alive scoring six runs in the bottom of the frame and then pulled away for an 11-1 victory over the Lady Cyclones.
The Pennsylvania team had 12 hits in the contest with Madisun Pritchard going four innings issuing five hits and six runs while striking out five and walking one.
South Williamsport scored three in the fifth and two in the sixth to take the 10-run mercy rule game.
Leading hitters for Elizabethton were Maely Ingram with a 3-for-3 day and Ember Jensen who banged out two hits in three plate appearances.
Mollie Johnson, Maddie O’Quinn, Emma O’Quinn, and Hannah Morgan each collected one hit apiece in the loss.
Maddie O’Quinn and Lilly McDuffie closed out the day in the pitching circle as O’Quinn gave up three runs on three hits while striking out one and walking one while McDuffie gave up two runs on four hits.
