Elizabethton High School is working on recognizing its alumni by restarting the EHS Alumni Association, originally founded 97 years ago.

The main focus of the program is to allow alumni, students and even faculty to connect to create a more inclusive and enhanced educational experience for current and upcoming students at Elizabethton High School.

One of the main goals is to have Elizabethton High School alumni join a registry, with their qualifications and what they were involved in at the school.

“Our vision was to create a database where alumni can register so students and teachers can reach out to get information about careers or jobs,” said Andrew McKeehan, alumni and president of Carter County Bank.

“This board is one we all have a passion for,” he said. “I think we all want to see Elizabethton High School do great things. The recent win of Elizabethton’s football team has made great timing for the release of the association. Many are proud to be a Cyclone and this gives them a way to be involved with the school.”

Alumni can find a registration link on the school’s website, https://www.ecschools.net/Content2/826. There is a suggested $20 fee for those wishing to join, but it is not necessary.

“There is a shared sheer excitement among those who are involved in getting this thing started,” said McKeehan.”For those who are proud of their roots, this program provides support and recognition.”
