The Fall season is finally upon the citizens of Elizabethton and Carter County, and with the beginning of the season comes many people getting ready for autumn celebrations as well as spooky events for Halloween next month.
This holds true for many different organizations within the area including Doe River Gorge in Hampton, one of the community’s premier spots to enjoy a day with the family away from home.
The summer camp/family fun location is hosting an event in celebration of the new season called “Maze of Life” starting this Sunday that will run every weekend until the last day of October.
The weekly event will consist of more than just a corn maze though, as those who attend each Saturday and Sunday can enjoy a variety of other activities such as a train ride, a petting zoo, hayride and similar events for younger children like the kiddie maze and the kiddie train.
All of those activities are included with the cost of admission, however Doe River Gorge will have other activities available for an extra cost if someone so chooses to take part. These extra cost activities include pumpkin painting for eight dollars, a pony ride for those ages four and up costing five dollars, and gem mining that can cost from 10 to 25 dollars.
Concessions stand with food and snacks as well as a gift shop for attendees will also be available throughout the event.
As before mentioned, the “Maze of Life” will take place each Saturday and Sunday until October 31st, with the first day of fun taking place Sunday, September 26th. Hours for Saturday are from 10 am until 10 pm, while things kick off on Sundays at 11:30 am and conclude at 6:30 pm.
Prices of admission for those ages 12 and up are 20 dollars, while children ages four to 11 are 15 dollars, and children three and under will be admitted for free.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or beforehand at doerivergorge.com, and those seeking more information can either visit the site or call (423) 725-4010 with any questions or concerns.
