John Sheldon McKay died peacefully at home on June 25, 2021.
He was born in 1935 to Ralph and Ethel McKay and joins them with his brother, Larry, in Heaven.
John leaves his loving wife of 64 years, Janice, along with his son, Jonathan McKay, and his daughter and her husband, Cherie and Rick Baxley. He leaves his grandchildren (and great-grandchildren), Miranda and Joe Wiggleston (Lilly and Evie), Richard and Alyssa Baxley (Charlotte and Emma) and Benjamin. John is also survived by his beloved brothers and their wives, Ron and Peg McKay and Doug and Carol McKay.
John was an Air Force veteran who retired as an engineer working for the National Ground Intelligence Center. He served as a Cubmaster, an interim preacher, and a Christmas tree farmer. He loved his Bible, a good joke and all things chocolate.
A private celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
