Terry Lee Woodby, 69, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Terry was born April 22, 1951 to the late Warren Woodby and Della Driscoll. Terry cherished the fact that he claimed two sets of parents as he spent much of his childhood with the late Fred and Gladys Norton of Elizabethton.
Terry was employed by United Elevator Services of Knoxville where he loved his job and co-workers. His favorite hobbies were photography and anything outdoors. He loved to spend time with all of his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Terry was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
In addition to both sets of his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Driscoll of Greeneville; one grandson, Jonathan Woodby; and an infant great-grandchild.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Lee Woodby and wife Armetia Woodby of Elizabethton; son, Kevin Woodby of Johnson City; five grandchildren, Megan Vance and husband Nathaniel Vance, Jacob Woodby and wife Britni Woodby, Kandice Woodby, Dillon Woodby and Billy Woodby; great-grandchildren, Brylen Woodby, Remington Vance and Emberly Woodby; brothers, Darris Woodby and wife Ivy of Elizabethton and Marion Woodby and wife Jean of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and sisters, Darlene Perkins and husband Dan Perkins and Teresa Valderas of Elizabethton, Eva Tipton and husband Jim Tipton of Greeneville and Darla Ripley and husband Robert of Hanover, Pa. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service to honor the life of Terry Woodby will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 27, at Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Alan King officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service and committal will follow at Lyons Chapel Cemetery on Saturday. Active pallbearers are Jacob Woodby, Nathaniel Vance, Billy Woodby, Dillon Woodby, Jimmy Presnell and Mark Woodby. The family would like to thank David Vickers and all employees of United Elevator Services and Zion Baptist Church for all their continued support and cherished memories.
