TCAT online CDM program graduates 7 students

TCAT – Seven students completed the eight-month online Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) training program at TCAT Elizabethton in the fall trimester just ended. Another 10 students are currently enrolled in the program.
The completers are Angela Bailey, Jonesborough; Benetta Bear, Maryville; Arlene Brown, Memphis; Candice Cherry, Copperhill; Huston Heatherly, Watauga; Glenda Rogers, Plainview, Texas; and Kristie Scarber, Attalla.
For the past eight months, the CDM students used the internet to access 714 web-based online hours, in addition to 150 hours of field training in hospitals and nursing homes in the student’s local area, according to Lisa Blackburn, program coordinator.
Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A recent TB Skin Test or chest x-ray is required prior to field training. There is no out-of-state tuition fee.
In addition to CDM and Licensed Practical Nursing, there was 100 percent student job placement in Automotive, Machine Tools and Pipefitting programs at TCAT Elizabethton for the 12-month period ending August 31, 2020.
