CONTRIBUTED — Tennessee farmers and ranchers can apply for financial assistance to help make up for losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic according to a statement released Tuesday by the U.S Department of Agriculture’s Sullivan/Carter County Farm Service Agency. President Donald J. Trump and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced up to an additional $14 billion for agricultural producers who continue to face market disruptions and associated costs because of COVID-19. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will use funds being made available from the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) Charter Act and CARES Act to support row crops, livestock, specialty crops, dairy, aquaculture and many additional commodities. Signup for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP 2) began September 21 and run through December 11, 2020 at the Sullivan/Carter Farm Service Agency.
