NASHVILLE (AP) — Three men were killed in a weekend shooting in Tennessee’s capital city, according to authorities.
Nashville Metro Police officers responded to a shooting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the city’s Donelson neighborhood, the agency said in a statement obtained by news outlets.
Officers discovered Gennaro Daniele, 29, and Jesus Torreo, 27, wounded in a parking lot at the address, which was the home of Daniele. The men were taken to a hospital where they later died, police said.
Officials said witnesses reported seeing someone fire at Daniele and Torrero from behind a building during an exchange of gunfire.
The suspected shooter escaped in a burgundy Chevrolet sedan, according to police. Later Saturday a car matching the description attempted to drop off a gunshot victim at a hospital but sped away after being approached by staff.
A third victim later identified as Quencharios Edmonds, 28, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside his SUV along a road in Smyrna, according to police.
Investigators said the shooting was likely drug-related and detectives recovered 7 pounds (3.18 kilograms) of marijuana, 500 ecstasy pills, a gun and more than $42,800 in cash from the address where the shooting was first reported.
