Big 11 Conference tournament… Cyclone boys finish fourth, girls seventh in 18-hole event

With very few matches left between now and the district tournament, the Big 11 Conference played its annual match on Tuesday at the Tri-Cities Golf Course as eleven teams took to the links for 18 holes of golf.
The event served as a preview to what the teams will be looking at come district tournament play on Monday, September 21st at the Ridgefield Golf Course in Kingsport.
On the boys’ side, the Elizabethton Cyclones had a strong showing finishing fourth in the tournament paced by Carson Peters and Caleb Tipton who finished the day with identical two-over-par 74s.
Padraig Murphy came into the clubhouse with a 77 while Cooper Tipton carded an 84.
Other Cyclone golfers and their finishes included Kerry Williams with an 85 and Brayden Phillips with a 92.
Dobyns-Bennett finished at the top of the heap as the Indians fired a team-best 289. Taylor Kilgore led the Indians to the win by firing a 70 with teammates Zac Fletcher and Sam Barbour finishing with identical even-par 72s.
Science Hill’s McKibben Teal helped the ‘Toppers to a third-place finish on the afternoon with Kipp Hambrick close behind with a 71.
Central’s Seth Robinette finished as the days’ medalist on the boys’ side finishing with a 66 while Tennessee High’s Jack Trickle was three strokes off Robinette’s finish with a 69.
In girls’ play, Tennessee High finished at the top of the leaderboard with a team total of 140 paced by Noelle Adkins round of 69. South’s Kara Carter fired a 68 to help the Lady Rebels to a second-place finish.
Science Hill finished third and Boone fourth on the girls’ side.
Elizabethton was led by Gabby Miller’s 18-hole total of 99. Hannah McDonnell finished with a 100 giving the Lady Cyclones a team total of 199.
Katelyn Kechter finished her day with a round of 101 while Kylee Evans closed out with a 107.
