In horseshoes it’s the ringer, in baseball it’s a home run, and in soccer, it’s the hat trick.
Every sport has an ultimate goal and when it comes to golf, that goal is to record a hole-in-one. Now for those that don’t play the sport or know much about it, the hole-in-one comes when a golfer hits his or her tee shot and the ball finds itself to the hole on this shot.
For many that play golf, they will never record this type of shot but for the select few, it is something they will never forget especially when they are playing with a group of their friends or family.
Two local golfers recently accomplished the feat at two different golf courses.
Adam Buckles
Playing in the Unicoi County Football tournament, Adam Buckles recorded his hole-in-one at the Elizabethton Golf Course using a three-iron off the white tee on the 8th Hole Par 3.
Buckles was playing with Stan Huff, Evan Huff, and Brian Delp.
Rocky Davenport
Rocky Davenport recorded his hole-in-one while playing at Graysburg Hills Golf Course.
Davenport knocked in his shot while playing the 8th Hole from 176-yards out using a seven-iron.
Witnessing the shot were Davenport’s playing partners of Robert Davenport and Lloyd Gibson.
Congratulations to both local golfers on recording their hole-in-ones.
