Katherine Irene Stout, 67, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. Katherine was born in Bristol, Va., to June Vencil Biglin, of Ohio. She was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and grandparents from the Mendota, Va., area.
Katherine had worked as a cashier and had a very loving heart. She was very social with everyone and loved all people. She was always smiling, laughing and telling funny stories. Katherine was also very strong, generous and brave and faced things head on. She was a cancer survivor since 2012.
Katherine was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching football and hunting mushrooms. Above all she enjoyed her time with her family and her pets.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of 26 years, Mark Allen Stout, of the home; her mother and step-father, June and Dale Biglin of Crestline, Ohio; two brothers, Rick Biglin and wife Kathy, also of Crestline, Ohio, and Brad Biglin and wife Michelle of Kingsport; a cousin, Gerry Rachel of Elizabethton; her aunt by marriage, Sharon Doss of Bristol, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Jack Jason Smith of Salisbury, N.C.; and her special cousins, Eric and Faith Doss. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. A graveside service to celebrate Katherine’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, in the Buntontown Cemetery in Butler, Tenn., with Reverend Larry Pearson officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to go in procession.
